AWS-Atkins Weather Station History

Welcome, in todays terms this might be called a Blog? Not really sure. This page is just information about the Weather Station, and I have included a few pictures. The Weather Station was installed January of 2008, I can't remember the exact day, but it looks like it was January 24, 2008 according to the past Weather Station records. The Weather Station is a La Crosse WS2310/WS2315, Wireless system, and has worked very well for me, with very minor problems. Once in awhile the aerometer will freeze up, and will not record the wind speed, this is common under the right weather conditions, and this also causes no windchill reading. Not much I can do, the areometor is about 35' off the ground, but it thaws rightout on a sunny day.

The Weather Station is hooked up to, and hosted on my home computer, which has server software installed. So what this all means is when you look at the Weather Station online, your looking at my home computer and it's files. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, or any comments. Email me.
Weather Station mounted on roof. The mast is mounted to the 3" plumbing vent pipe that comes out of the roof with hose clamps. The top of the mast is about 35' from the ground. On top of the mast is the aerometer, it reads windspeed and direction. At the bottom, if you look close, you can see the white rain gauge box, it is mounted to a level platform which is to clamped to the vent pipe.
Just another shot of the mast.
Another shot of the mast at a drifferent angle.
Temperature and Humidity sensor mounted on north side of the house, about 6' off the ground, under the roof overhang. It's a good idea to protect these sensors from the weather as much as you can. It has a plastic cover over it with the bottom open. The system works wireless. The two sensors on the roof, {aerometer and rain gauge} are wired to the temperature/humidity sensor as you can see here, but from the temperature humidity sensor to the inside control console is wireless. The outside temperature sensor takes two AA batteries, lithium of course.
Another shot of the sensor.
Inside wireless control console, with lighted display. The control panel plugs to the computer, and relays the information to the weather software installed on the computer, and from their, thats what you see online.
